Egg (Oocyte) Donor Cycles
The
ARC Fertility Program offers the patient the opportunity to use donated oocytes
(eggs) during a cycle of in-vitro fertilization. When the decision to use an
egg donor is made before the purchase of an IVF Treatment Package, the cost of
the clinical package is determined using the age of the donor, the combined clinical
factors of the donor and the recipient and the costs of the IVF program you have
chosen. The donor and recipient must receive all their care from the same ARC
practice.
We are very pleased to announce our recent affiliation with Alternative Conceptions, a leading nationwide ovum donor agency. This agency is professionally led by Bivian Marr, RNP who has 20 years of valuable experience in the field. She established one of the country’s first ovum donation programs in 1984 and has co-authored numerous relevant research papers. Both ARC and Alternative Conceptions are committed to following the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) guidelines for infertility treatment. Alternative Conceptions has a nationwide database of ethnically diverse, healthy young women from which ARC physician members and patients may select qualified donors. ARC has appointed Alternative Conceptions as their ovum donor program of choice for their Southern California members. We are proud to be united with such an outstanding organization!
The following is to clarify the guidelines that apply when using egg donor in each of the following scenarios:
Scenario 1:
A patient purchasing a Three-cycle Plus option who would like to undergo the first cycle using her own oocytes (eggs) and then switch to an egg donor for the remaining treatment cycles may do so with the understanding that the cost of the clinical package would be determined by using the age and clinical factors of the patient, not the donor. The patient may switch to an egg donor for any remaining cycles in that package but the price would not be adjusted.
Scenario 2:
If a patient begins a Three-cycle Plus option with an oocyte (egg) donor and then chooses to use a different donor after the first treatment cycle, the cost of the package will not change if the second donor's medical history and other factors are equivalent to the first donor's, as determined solely by ARC. ARC reserves the right to cancel the Three-cycle Plus and return to the Patient the amount of money determined by ARC's Cancellation Policy. The cost of this clinical package would be determined using the age of the donor and the combined clinical factors of the donor and the recipient.
Scenario 3:
If a patient would like to use her own eggs for subsequent treatment cycles after using Donor Oocytes in the first cycle, the cost of the clinical package would be recalculated using the patient's age and clinical factors. This would determine the "new" cost of the package. The difference between the original cost and recalculated cost would have to be paid before treatment could continue.
If a patient would like to use her own eggs after using donor eggs on two IVF cycles the cost of the clinical package would not change. If a patient has purchased The ARC Refund Guarantee and chooses to use a different egg donor or to use her own eggs after completing one IVF cycle with a donor, ARC reserves the right to reprice the cost of The ARC Refund Guarantee or to Cancel The ARC Refund Guarantee and return to the patient the amount paid for the refund guarantee itself less a $500 administrative fee. Any increased amount of The Refund Guarantee must be paid by the patient or The Refund Guarantee will be null and void.
** Some practices include the donor's pre-screening, compensation and agency coordination fees. Please confirm the exact services you will receive prior to purchase.
